Royal Decree No. 7/1561M is issued to establish the National Kidney Center

1413 AH – 1992 AD
A Royal Decree changes the name of the Kidney Center to the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation, by Cabinet Decision No. (80)

1418 AH – 1997 AD
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, laid the foundation stone for the construction of a new headquarters for the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation.

1427 AH – 2006 AD
Designation of a reference center for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries was approved

1433 AH – 2011 AD
Cabinet Decision No. 38/2013 was issued to define the roles and responsibilities of the Center

1443 AH – 2021 AD
The Cabinet approved the Organ Donation Law

1443 AH – 2021 AD
The program was honored by the registration of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince in the Organ Donation Program.

1444 AH – 2022 AD
The organizational structure of the Center’s operating model was approved by the Saudi Health Council
