The Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation successfully coordinated organ donations over the past two weeks, following consent from the families of nine brain-dead donors within the Kingdom, in addition to collaborative donations from the United Arab Emirates. These efforts resulted in 25 transplant procedures, saving lives and ending the suffering of patients with end-stage organ failure.

In total, eleven donors contributed to restoring hope and improving the lives of 25 patients and their families, reflecting the strong spirit of generosity and solidarity within the community.
The procedures were carried out under the supervision of the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation, in coordination with several healthcare institutions, including King Khalid University Hospital, King Saud Medical City, King Abdulaziz Medical City – National Guard, Wadi Al-Dawasir General Hospital, Dammam Central Hospital, as well as Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and Al Qassimi Hospital, as part of the GCC organ exchange program.
Dr. Talal Al-Qoufi, Director General of the Center, stated that organ allocation was conducted in accordance with established medical ethics and policies, ensuring fairness based on patients’ medical priorities. He emphasized that this achievement reflects strong collaboration among all stakeholders, and commended the efforts of air medical evacuation teams and medical staff both within and outside the Kingdom.
In closing, Dr. Al-Qoufi expressed his sincere gratitude to the families of the donors for their noble decision, praying that they are rewarded for their generosity in this life and the hereafter.
