SaadAllah Al-Othman, Liver Recipient

It was the decree of Allah that I was afflicted with Hepatitis C virus more than twenty years ago, leading to liver cirrhosis, a condition I endured greatly. Yet, my healing was ordained through the hands of skilled and trustworthy national doctors who were devoted to the well-being of humanity, as Allah Almighty said:  "And whoever saves one life, it is as if he had saved all of humanity." (Qur'an 5:32)

Among these doctors, I must express my gratitude to those who showed great care and sincerity in their treatment. This occurred in 2010. I remember with gratitude Dr. Abdullah Qazi Al-Ghamdi, the head of the Internal Medicine Department at King Fahd Hospital in Jeddah, who referred me, after diagnosing the condition, to King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh.

There, I was examined and underwent the necessary tests under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Al-Sabeel, the head of the Liver Surgery and Transplantation Department, who performed a complete liver transplant for me in 2012 in coordination with the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation.

I also wish to commend the efforts of the medical team involved in the operation, as well as the nursing staff in the liver department, and all the staff in the various departments at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh. Their collective dedication played a commendable role in fulfilling their duties to the best of their abilities. If anything indicates success and dedication, it is the senior management overseeing the operations of this giant medical institution in the field of successful and globally competitive human medicine, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman, and his Crown Prince, may Allah protect them.
